Who will claim the nadir of stupidity?

March 9, 2009

It seems there is a contest going on right now among media figures and cabinet-level Obama administration heads as to who can do or say the stupidest thing imaginable. Here are the entrants in this laughable race to the bottom.

Our first entrant is Mr. Christopher Buckley. In general all he seems to have inherited from William F. Buckley is his last name, but even that does not explain the insanity of his recent Forbes column.

Hoping Obama was a centrist last year was foolish, if not implausible, but I see little reason for him to assault John McCain and Sarah Palin, as in the excerpt below:

Our choice, last fall, was between an angry 73 year old with a legislative record far from consistently conservative, who nominated as his running mate a know-nothing religious extremist; on the other side was an appealing, thoughtful man who–for a brief shining moment–seemed to be more than the sum of his ideological parts.

If I had to vote all over again, I’d pull the same lever. Maybe I’m obtuse. Or maybe I just haven’t yet entirely given up on the old audacity of hope.

John McCain was not my choice in the primaries. The first time I ever even considered pulling the level for him was on November 4th, 2008. That being said, John McCain has to be the calmest example of an angry old man yet to be seen. In regards to religious extremism and thoughtfullness? Obama is a man who had his children baptized by a preacher known for spreading lives about God and the Bible, bought his house from a slum lord currently under federal investigation, and didn’t even flinch when he served on the same board as an unrepentant terrorist. If Barack Obama is the standard bearer for thoughtfulness, thoughtfulness is very overrated indeed.

If Chris Buckley didn’t like McCain’s voting record, why would he vote for the biggest liberal in the Senate?

One final note: It appears Mr. Buckley forgot to analyze Obama’s Vice Presidential choice of Joe Biden. Is that because the choice wasn’t thoughtful or that when it comes to idiocy, Joe Biden’s record surpasses those who have willfully attempted to surpass it?

Entrant two in this contest is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton has made two noteworthy gaffes in the last week.

The first is giving the Russian Foreign Minister an incorrectly translated “reset” button. Instead it said “overcharged.” This sniping at the previous admnistration is very Clintonesque to begin with, but why does anyone give the Russians a big red button? Furthermore, why would anyone be so cheap and tacky with their gift, and then not even bother to make sure the incription is correct? Nikita Khruschev is laughing from his grave. When will the Clintons learn that America’s enemies can greet them warmly and initiate a missile strike simultaneously?

The second comes from her audience with European Union leaders.

Just read the whole thing. The short form is that she claimed US democracy was older than European democracy, that she couldn’t understand how a multi-part system could work, and made various mispronounciations of European leaders’ names. It seems like wherever she goes, the leaders there humor her as if she’s a lost child. Technically speaking, the US is a multi-party system, it’s just that no 3rd party candidate tends to successfully win elections.

And lets not forget the bone-chilling words that seem to come from all hacks in the Age of Obama: “Never waste a good crisis.” If anyone who has said that comes within 10 miles of your house, lock your doors and shut your windows. Not that it will help, I suppose, given that the more the economy tanks, the more bilge Obama and co. can stuff down our throats. Reagan said the most terrifying nine words in the English language are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” “Never waste a good crisis” has to be the most terrifying five words in the English language.

You already know the other candidates, of course. Treasury Secretary/Tax Cheat Tim Geithner still hasn’t revealed his economic recovery plan, Obama’s urban czar (whatever that is) remains as corrupt as anything Obama touches, and Joe Biden, the guy nobody messes with, is supposedly in charge of the recovery. Let us hope that Neil Kinnock had a good economic policy speech that Biden can plagiarize.

Hail Rush Limbaugh, annointed head of the Shadow Government.

March 4, 2009

Something became very clear to me as I was sorting through all the “Rush vs. random GOP guy, Schism, Chaos!” posts and commentary on the Internet and television.

Obama fears Rush Limbaugh more than any other on this globe. Rush is the mirror that reflects Obama’s ugly cruelty. He is the one man that intimidation and Alinskyan tactics alone cannot bring down. The scariest part about all this is that Obama does not care about any legacy greater than the destruction of Rush Limbaugh.

Bear with me for a moment. Ever since Obama got into office, has he made any single serious attempt to address the economic crisis? He appoints a tax cheat for treasury secretary, a bunch of old Clinton standbys for every post a crony won’t fit into, and otherwise has failed at every turn to do anything but hold campaign-esque events. In a single month the economy’s unraveling has not even slowed, it has instead accelerated. Is this because Obama is simply too stupid, too naive to understand the nuance of a capitalist economy directed by individual choice?

No. To suggest Obama is stupid rather than evil is an insult to his cunning and his ambition. Why else would the sole focus of attention for Obama’s press secretary and media allies be a radio talk show host, and any news analyst, be it Jim Cramer or Rick Santelli, who has the audacity to question what he’s doing? Obama has been focused like a laser on Rush Limbaugh, and tying him to every GOP Congressman he can find. Are these the actions of a man concerned with people losing their homes and livelihoods?

Obama will not measure his legacy by America’s success, but by Rush Limbaugh’s failure. America can burn to the ground at his feet, and as long as he can break Rush Limbaugh he will be happy. Every authoritarian believes himself to be God, and every God needs a corresponding Satan. Who I ask makes a better Satan for a leftist authoritarian that Rush Limbaugh? He has the ear of 20 million people without a single attempt to bamboozle or control them. He is overweight, white, male, Republican, and “angry.” His net worth dwarfs that of many of the elite moneyed liberals, and he got it through hard work, guts, and ambition. No matter how much manufactured scandal is thrown his way, he continues to influence people and discredit liberal ideas. He is impervious to attack because he does not shy away from an attack on his honor like weak-willed politicians do.

Finally, and most irksome of all to Obama, is that Rush has all this power at his disposal and he refuses to use it to exploit people. He does not run for office nor think it is his duty as the elite and powerful upper crust to decide the lives of lesser men. Authoritarians respect power, but despise those who do not use it to exploit others.

Thus, Rush has become the shadow opposition. In the UK, the party that is out of power appoints a “Shadow Prime Minister” whose  purpose is to provide the minority response to the Prime Minister. Obama calculates that he and he alone has the power to finally destroy Limbaugh, and so has placed him on a pedestal. Obama cares only about destroying this Satan. If he does so, he will be a hero honored by the left in the mold of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and Josef Stalin. Obama is a starry-eyed leftist idealist, and to him this status would matter more to him than any other honor. Just as William Ayers does not care that he is a traitorous lecher, Barack Obama will not care if the country is dropped into third world status as long as someone, somewhere will enshrine him as a hero through time immemorial.

This is why Obama is truly terrifying. Successful Presidents come and go; Heroes are forever. Obama already believes himself a hero, and requires you to believe it too.

New Messiah’s new community organizer as corrupt as the original.

I find the idea of an “urban czar” to be Orwellian at it’s foundation anyway, but this news is so juicy that it simply begs the category:  Brought to you by the Obama Vetting Team. In with such Rhodes Scholars as Joseph R. Biden, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and Timothy Geithner. Everything old is screw again!

Apparently a good, clean, honest community organizer is a rare commodity.

Adolfo Carrion appears to be a vulture picking off victims while picking up dough. He’s from the Bronx.  Don’t *&^ with him.

Good help is so hard to find these days…

New Messiah claims Holy Legislation earmark free, despite earmarks.

Worst. Lie. Ever.

HotAir has a brief sampling of the pet projects and chicanery in the porkulus bill from a few weeks ago, go there for more details.

A brief rundown: Goodies for affordable housing, enviro-projects, education grants, high-speed rail grants, and all other non-direct means of  economic investment.

The most terrifying thing about Obama is that he will lie to your face on national television and smile about it. He did it at least twice in the last McCain/Obama Presidential Debate vis-a-vis his relationship with William Ayers and the circumstances surrounding  the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which he killed on at least 4 separate occaisions.

My only suggestion is to spread truth to your friends and neighbors. You certainly won’t be getting it from the Federal Government, and especially not from the herald of Hope and Change himself.

Herald of Doom to sound chipper, notes BBC.

February 24, 2009

From the Beeb:

President Obama is many things, but optimistic he is not. He has consistently told us that things will get worse before they get better, that we must, absolutely and unequivocably, rush boldly into his new trillion dollar plan with nary a brake to stop us; that so important is his plan and that of tax cheat (er, Treasury Secretary) Timothy Geithner that all his sunshine and roses campaign rhetoric about transparency must be cast aside in the rush to do nothing. I’m still waiting for that damned frozen puddle to recede.

Obama shall make another speech tonight, and I imagine it will be like his many other speeches: Long on length, short on content. Obama’s rhetorical style is that of the flim-flam man: he has you hang, on every word, no matter how absurd. Note that no matter how soothing and calming Obama’s voice and that of the only tax cheat who can save America, Timothy Geithner, the market has refused to go up. The emperor has no clothes. Or perhaps, the clothes have no emperor.

However, I am sure it will be billed as the greatest speech since the Gettysburg Address. Then tomorrow the market will drop another hundred points. Shovel ready indeed.

Harris Poll: New Messiah More Popular than Old Messiah.

February 23, 2009

From noinvite:

President Obama is followed by Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King. Others in the top ten, in descending order, are Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, Chesley Sullenberger and Mother Teresa.

The Harris Poll was conducted online among a sample of 2,634 U.S. adults (aged 18 and over) by Harris Interactive between January 12 and 19, 2009. The authors point out that when interpreting the results, one must keep in mind that these heroes were named spontaneously by those surveyed and they were not shown or read a list of people to choose from.

Note this poll was before President Obama’s innauguration day.

It is extremely disturbing when a politician who is best known for spending time in office running for a higher office is thought to be a greater hero than the professed savior of a majority of Americans. Placing all of one’s hopes in a single man, especially one so prone to displays of arrogance and egotism is dangerous. Obama’s touchstone campaign style is messianic imagery. He literally said at one of his speeches that his election will be the day the waters recede and the planet starts to heal.

Obama is not the first politician to use messianic imagery in tandem with impossible promises and a cult of personality. I don’t want to invoke Godwin’s Law, but lets just say the last time someone like this came along, the results were disatrous for the entire planet. This is terrifying.

Rich to get Poorer, Poor to remain so.

February 23, 2009

(HT HotAir)

In the new Age of Obama, one can be assured that you fit into one of two groups: Immediate targets and Long-term targets.

Immediate targets include the rich, the healthy, small business owners, large business owners, families with two parents, Republicans, conservatives, Rush Limbaugh, talk radio, responsible home owners, legal immigrants, libertarians, minstrel theater, and public decency.

Long-term targets include the poor, the unhealthy, union workers, union teachers,  single mothers, single fathers,  African Americans, illegal aliens, welfare recipients, anybody named “Clinton,” any remaining liberals in the Democratic party, and popular petition for the redress of grievances.

The gist of Obama’s new plan, as reported in the Washington Post is to “increase taxes on businesses and the wealthy.” Remember everyone, that the Age of Obama is the Age of New Politics. Do not let your lying eyes decieve you, never before has any Democrat suggested raising taxes on productive businesses or that amorphous group of malevolent malefactors “the rich.”

President Barack Obama assures us that there will be a time for profits, but it will not be during his time in office. Unprofitability combined with government intervention in failing companies is the key to dragging us out of this recession. Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden asserts that paying taxes is a patriotic duty, unless you are the only man who can save the economy, United States Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner.

Do not despair fellow citizens. Hope and Change is here, and in this New Age of Obama, the greatest wealth is not the money you earn, but the money you pay.
